TREATMENT
COG LIFTING THREADS
Another category of threads , also made of PDO, that are widely used to achieve what we call “bloodless lifting” is COG lifting threads. They find application in the improvement of the sagging of the oval of the face, in the lifting of the cheekbone area and the area of the outer eyebrow, in the tightening-lifting of the neck.
What are COG threads?
Another category of threads , also made of PDO, that are widely used to achieve what we call “bloodless lifting” is COG lifting threads. They find application in the improvement of the sagging of the oval of the face, in the lifting of the cheekbone area and the area of the outer eyebrow, in the tightening-lifting of the neck.
Where do they apply?
COG threads usually correct the sagging of the oval of the face, lift the cheeks, emphasize the cheekbones, raise the eyebrows, and under certain conditions can be placed on the neck together with the PDO threads for tightening-lifting.
Instructions after treatment?
After the treatment, instructions are given to avoid heat or rubbing the area for a few days.
Which are the categories?
There are different categories of lifting threads, more or less invasive and of different cost. All threads are absorbable and the results last one to two years. They are commonly used and require a short application time, are specially made threads with thorns and hooks, which are located in hollow needles or cannulas (COG). They are placed under the skin and they are anchored to it, pulling it and stretching it to the desired point, in order to deal with the sagging of the area.
How are they placed?
COG threads are typically inserted using the same technique as regular PDO threads, but they are longer. Local anesthesia is typically used to reduce discomfort during the procedure. The needle is inserted at the desired injection site and then the thread is passed through the needle, leaving the thread behind. The needle is then removed and the thread is tightened and secured in place, with the barb and cog features providing more lift and tensioning. After the procedure, the threads dissolve over time and are eventually absorbed by the body. It is done by the doctor and lasts from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of threads that will be placed and the surface of the areas that we want to correct. The effect usually appears immediately and continues to improve more and more within the next three months, as the threads are absorbed and collagen is formed. In some cases, there may be small dimples during the placement of the threads and small bruises may form, which subside in one week.
